The Final Intern Project
ABOUT THE PROJECT:
In addition to your day-to-day tasks, we have put together a program where each intern at The Oriel Company will ideate a press and marketing plan for an artist on our client roster. At the end of the semester, you will present your plan and ideas to the co-founders and senior team at the company. The goal is for each intern to take away a tangible asset to use for future internships, job interviews in the industry demonstrating what you have learned and your understanding of music media.
WHAT IS REQUIRED:
Generate a press plan and rollout strategy for the artist based on the provided materials.
Ideate a goal and objectives for the artist and formulate a plan to execute these.
Ideas should touch all levels of press: print targets, online interviews, social content, video
content, podcasts, television, etc.
Include creative marketing tactics that will help aid in securing the press you are going
after.
Be creative and have fun with this!
DELIVERABLES:
A PowerPoint or similar type presentation of your ideas – presentations should be about 5
minutes long.
Accompanying PDF document of your more robust press plan describing reasons for why
you chose specific ideas and providing detail.
A mock pitch that would be sent to media to execute these ideas.
A mock press release describing a music release from the artist that would be sent to
media at large.
